Pathways Therapeutic Services is an innovative, client-centred private practice in Karratha (regional WA).

to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. 

Psychologist/Counsellor

We are seeking expressions of interest for a provisional or general Psychologist, or Clinical Counsellor to join a rapidly-growing practice! This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to develop their skills and experience in a regional setting.

We work with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of clinical presentations, and we are seeking a Psychologist or Counsellor who is willing to develop their private practice skills and bring their expertise and unique skill set in specific areas. Ideally they will be responsible for providing psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions for individuals of all ages, however, preference is given to the clinician to work within their area of expertise and comfortability.

 

We place a high value on encouraging individuality and autonomy in your own style of practice. There are a lot of opportunities to be clinically innovative and even create new services! Training is available for those who express interest in becoming a Certified Direct Neurofeedback provider.

• Marriage and relationship counselling
• Employee assistance counselling
• Child and Teen counselling - Sandplay therapy
• ADHD, Developmental, Behavioural, and Attachment issues - Neurofeedback therapy
• Depression and Anxiety

Your responsibilities:
• Provide evidence-based practice and therapy to children, adolescents and adults (research and prepare for client sessions)
• Clinical note taking
• Engage clients to attend the recommended number of sessions in line with best practice and presenting issues
• Nurturing relationships with GP's and other referring agencies
• Administrative tasks including letters to referrers and report writing
• Organising regular clinical supervision

Selection criteria:
Applicants should ideally meet the following criteria:
• Registration (provisional, general or clinical) with a professional body (AHPRA, APS, PACFA, ACA)
• Eligible to obtain Medicare provider number (non-essential)
• Working with Children check & Police Clearance
• Professional Indemnity Insurance
• Demonstrated experience and competence in providing assessments, psychotherapy, and counselling services to children, adolescents and adults.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant theoretical approaches for working with children, adolescents and adults.
